The Performance Model:
Turning Insight into Performance

environment and communication - team setting

1. Environment & Communication

The athlete’s surroundings—coaching, feedback, expectations, and support—form the foundation of performance. Without this base, mental strategies can’t take root.

2. Self-Awareness & Analysis

Recognizing physical, technical, and mental patterns reveals what truly drives performance. Awareness allows athletes to adjust intentionally and build consistency.

3. Mental Skills & Application

With a solid environment and clear self-understanding, mental tools like focus, confidence, and composure can be applied effectively and sustained over time.

The Framework:
From Self-Awareness to Action

My process follows a three-step framework that guides clients from reflection to meaningful change:

1.Why

Identify the root causes of performance challenges

2.How

Clarify the steps needed to create momentum

3.What

Apply targeted strategies to support lasting improvement

This framework provides a clear roadmap for athletes and teams committed to growth.

Why is Mental Training Important?

You have coaches who train your technique—but you also need a mental coach to train your mind.

Just as you train your muscles and refine your technique daily, you must also train your mind to perform at your best. When it’s time to compete, lacking fundamental skills leads to technical mistakes. In the same way, without mental preparation, the pressure of competition can lead to nervousness, negative thoughts, and a loss of focus.

Mental training helps you build the psychological readiness to handle high-stakes moments with clarity, confidence, and control.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is mental performance consulting different from therapy?

Mental performance consulting is designed to enhance focus, confidence, and consistency in sport or professional settings. It is not therapy and does not involve diagnosing or treating mental health conditions.

Can parents or coaches participate in sessions?

Yes—when appropriate, collaboration with parents or coaches is encouraged to ensure a consistent and supportive environment that reinforces performance goals.

Who can benefit from mental performance training?

Anyone aiming to improve consistency, confidence, or focus in high-pressure environments. This includes athletes, coaches, corporate teams, and professionals looking to perform at their best, manage stress effectively, and align daily actions with long-term goals.

How many sessions do clients typically complete?

The number of sessions varies based on individual goals. Some clients work for 3–5 sessions to address specific challenges, while others continue throughout a season for ongoing reflection, growth, and accountability.

What should I do to prepare for the first session?

No preparation is required. Simply bring openness and honesty. The first session focuses on understanding your environment, routines, and goals to establish a foundation for meaningful progress.

How do I get started?

Begin by booking an intake session. During this first meeting, we’ll discuss your goals, environment, and current challenges to create a personalized plan. Sessions can be held virtually or in person and are tailored to your schedule and performance needs.
